POSITION DESCRIPTION:
Under general direction, the Special Events Intern will provide support to the Marketing Department. This position will help execute event day logistics as well as assist with any preparation associated with the event. The Special Events Intern will work a flexible schedule, which may include weekend and evening events.
This is a seasonal position starting in September. Seasonal start and end dates can vary based upon individual availability and team needs.

Assist with various Zoo & Aquarium events, including:
- Organizing and executing attendance-driving events such as Boo at the Zoo and Meet Santa
- Executing ticketed events such as Zoo Run and Brew at the Zoo

Other marketing duties as assigned.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
- EDUCATION & FORMAL TRAINING:
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
- EXPERIENCE:
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Strong computer skills, including Microsoft Office, preferred.
- OTHER MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
- Must have valid driver’s license.
- Must be able to work a flexible schedule, including weekends, holidays and evening hours, in all weather extremes.
- Can move equipment weighing up to 50 pounds, with or without assistance. Assistance depending upon task.
- Must pass a background check and drug screening.
