(Senior) Project Manager – Climate Strategy / Carbon Project Certification in a permanent full-time position. If you feel we are a fit, we are looking forward to welcoming you in our team in at our head office in Cologne.
Your main duties will be:
- You will develop and implement Climate Strategies towards net-zero and climate neutrality for corporates belonging to different sectors
- You will contribute to the certification of carbon projects and assist project developers in their journey to certification (e.g. feasibility studies, PDD, SDG assessment, risk analysis, etc.)
- You will be responsible for consulting projects with a focus on high-integrity carbon credits generation, mostly focused on nature-based carbon removals and carbon farming
- You will contribute to the development of Meo services on sustainability reporting and compliance
- You will perform data research, analysis and evaluations for specific customer requests and the preparation of reports and market studies
- You will support the further development of our service portfolio and manage proposals and tenders
- You will be responsible for the whole project lifecycle including scheduling, stakeholder management, documentation, controlling, participation in client meetings and project workshops
- You will perform company presentations at public national and international events
Your profile
- University degree in environmental management / engineering, sustainability management / sciences, natural sciences, engineering or other related fields
- At least 3 years of professional experience after graduation
- At least 1 year of professional experience Climate Strategy after graduation
- At least 2 year of professional experience in project management
- Proven hands-on experience in Climate Strategy development for clients
- Deep knowledge of net-zero and climate neutrality targets, including SBTi
- Advance knowledge of carbon markets (Regulated and Voluntary) and understanding of the key drivers, market trends, and impacting regulatory frameworks
- Deep understanding of and (ideally) working experience with international certification standards (VCS, CMD, Gold Standard, ClimatePal)
- Experience in developing feasibility study
- Familiarity to carbon footprint calculation and interpretation of results
- Familiarity with ESG and the reporting and compliance regulations (CSRD, CSRDDD and Green Claims Directive will be of advantage
- Knowledge and experience on (climate) finance and risk analysis will be an assett
- Excellent written and spoken communication skills in English and German (both at least C1); speaking other languages would be of advantage
- Excellent and proven writing skills with regards to proposals, project documentation and reporting
- Results oriented and very attentive to details
- Very strong presentation skills as well as the ability to explain complex issues in simple terms and to prepare professional presentations according to target group
- High degree of initiative and commitment combined with an independent working style and pragmatic, hands-on attitude
- Very good computer and MS Office skills as well as high general IT proficiency
- Willingness and ability to travel internationally
