Job Summary
The Manager, Business Development for Low Carbon Solutions role will be responsible for developing Symmetry’s offerings to help meet customer demand for low carbon solutions working closely with Symmetry’s commercial teams to source, promote and sell these products.
This position will be officed out of our Houston, TX office location, and with the ability to be a hybrid position.
Essential Duties/Responsibilities
- Work directly with sales team and customers to develop and market Symmetry’s low carbon product offering, to address customer carbon reduction and sustainability objectives.
- Leverage existing knowledge and experience with low carbon solutions to build out a standard offering and customize individual solutions as required.
- Provide consultative support to customers to articulate the benefits and costs of the various solutions and help them through the decision-making process.
- Develop marketing materials to help the sales team market Symmetry’s capabilities and generate sales opportunities.
- Work with the sales team develop and grow an opportunity pipeline and set sales targets for Symmetry’s low carbon solutions.
- Partner with the sales representatives to present Symmetry’s offering to customers.
- Work directly with suppliers to source these products--RNG, RSG, carbon offsets, etc.
- Partner with the operations team to develop operating and reporting procedures that satisfy all compliance obligations.
- Understand the regulatory environment and stay abreast of developments to ensure Symmetry and its customers are well positioned and prepared for the evolving landscape.
- Leverage existing relationships to advance Symmetry’s objectives.
- Attend and participate in industry conferences and association meetings to build Symmetry’s presence and credibility in the industry.
- Determine targets and objectives for key strategic KPIs, which achieve overall growth goals and contribution to Symmetry’s bottom line.
- Plan for both continuous and step improvements for processes and personnel.
- Initiate and lead cross-functional meetings to review opportunities/issues and implement enhancements.
- Model and uphold the company’s vision and core values both internally and externally.
- Lead efforts to build and execute sales campaigns and initiatives to drive revenue growth.
- Effectively manage products and cost of supply to achieve optimal profitability of the portfolio.
- Work closely with the finance team to report and present financial performance.
- Regularly present and communicate to Senior Leadership on performance, strategic planning, and business objectives.
- Manage performance by establishing goals and development plans, evaluating, and documenting performance.
- Represent the organization, department, or company on internal teams and/or to external entities.
- Support or lead cross functional projects that support company objectives, as directed by Senior Leadership.
- Other duties as assigned by the hiring manager.

Education/Certification/Experience
- Requires a Bachelor’s Degree in environmental science, business, marketing accounting, economics or finance from an accredited college or university OR a combination of education and experience providing equivalent or related knowledge. (Experience in lieu of education is in addition to the Experience requirement.)
- Minimum of 5 years + of Natural Gas Industry experience or other business-related disciplines.
- Minimum of 2 years of experience with low carbon or products or with sustainable energy solutions.

- Able to reach, grasp and move items.
- Able to sit, stand or walk for extended periods.
- Able to speak, read and understand the English language.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced office environment with deadlines that may require more than a 40-hour as required.
- Able to work indoors, in an office environment, regardless of whether open office, cubicle, or private office.
- Able to travel regularly, possibly overnight, to attend meetings and/or conferences.
