Role:
Rystad Energy is seeking an ambitious and motivated analyst to contribute to the development of our core Energy Transition data and research products. We are constantly improving and expanding our product portfolio, and the new role will fuel our product development in North America. The foundation of our products is a high volume of factual data combined with sophisticated in-house data management systems and forecasting tools, which model physical and market-based mechanisms governing global energy systems.
CCUS Solution
The CCUS Solution focuses on the global market for carbon capture and storage, including announced CCUS projects, the global set of point-source CO2 emissions, geological CO2 storage potential and CO2 utilization technologies, comprehensive supply chain coverage. CCUS is at the forefront of the energy transition, with Europe and North America spearheading some of the most exciting projects within the CCUS space.
Hydrogen Solution
The Hydrogen Solution covers the entire hydrogen and derivative product value chain, including the global market for hydrogen and hydrogen-derived products, from both a supply and demand perspective. Key focus areas include end-use applications of hydrogen in industry, transport, and power sectors, along with hydrogen production technologies and market trends. With hydrogen becoming increasingly relevant as a pathway to decarbonize several hard-to-abate sectors, we at Rystad Energy are continuously working with clients to understand this fast-growing market.
Key responsibilities
• Research on product-related topics including, but not limited to, decarbonization of industry and other hard- to- abate sectors, developments in CCUS & Hydrogen technologies and applications as well as supply and demand analysis with the focus on the U.S. and Canadian markets.
• Take part in the analysis of Rystad Energy data to form the factual basis of regular reports and news-driven research notes with the focus on CCUS, Hydrogen and adjacent energy themes (e.g. bioenergy, synthetic fuels, carbon markets).
• Develop and maintain granular databases with factual drivers to support the development CCUS and Hydrogen solutions.
• Support and contribute to the development of a Global Energy Systems models.
• Communicate and collaborate with the rest of the team spread across Americas, EMEA and APAC regions.
• Contribute to management consulting projects within the energy transition area on ad-hoc basis.
Desired Qualifications
• An individual with the highest levels of energy, determination and analytical ability is a must, combined with excellent communication, presentation skills. You will have fared successfully in academics, participated in extra-curricular and will have the following qualifications:
• University degree in the fields such as Engineering, Sustainability, Chemicals, Hydrogen, CCUS, General Energy, Economics, Mathematics, Physics.
• 2+ years of work experience in energy sector, experience with direct exposure to the CCS and/or hydrogen sectors is preferred
• Analytical mindset and robust critical thinking skills, and the ability to work a dynamic work environment.
• Self-starter with a proven ability to manage tasks and projects independently
• Passionate about energy industry, specifically about clean tech and new energies.
• Proactive, independent, open-minded and creative.
• Thrives in a fast-paced environment, and strong multi-tasker.
• Competent user of core Microsoft Office product suite (Excel, PowerPoint, Word, Teams, Outlook).
• Experience with Power BI is a strong advantage.
• Experience with Python and/or SQL is a plus, but not the requirement for this role.
• Fluent in English, both verbal and written.
