DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Operate and drive CAA ERS Fleet Vehicles in conjunction with the Manitoba Highway Traffic Act, as well as with CAA established Manitoba Fleet Procedures.
• Attend ERS Service calls including battery boosting, flat tires, lockouts, gas, extrication, and tows according to established CCG Towing and Service Procedures. Collects additional fees for service calls from members as required.
• Greet members; check membership and drivers license data upon arriving at the scene of the member’s vehicle. Ask questions and communicate effectively with member in order to understand problems and explain policies.
• Assess a break down scene for safety and probable workable assessment.
• Accurate diagnosis of battery condition, charging system output, and any electrical drain that may hamper the operation of the member’s vehicle.
• Is expected to work within basic troubleshooting and quick-fix guidelines to achieve a “Go or Tow” assessment.
• When appropriate, perform repairs to allow the member to drive safely to a repair facility.
• Represent CCG in a positive way while on duty including dealing respectively with the general motoring public, pedestrians, cyclists, and members.
• Answer member and general client questions relating to their ERS Benefits, and general CCG products and services.
• Use MDC terminal to receive and respond to ERS calls sent by CCG dispatchers.
• Report traffic accidents and suspicious motoring activities when witnessed to CCG dispatchers.
• Maintain a safe working environment by keeping alert, reporting safety issues to supervisors, and wearing all Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) required to complete duties as assigned.
• Promote all areas of CAA including Home & Property Insurance, all Show Your Card & Save programs, plus Battery Assist, Locksmiths and Immobilizer programs.
• Performs other job-related duties as assigned.
REQUIREMENTS:
• Mechanical aptitude.
• Previous experience dealing with customers and providing quality customer service.
• Knowledge of the city of Winnipeg, and rural geography of Manitoba.
• Previous experience operating a tow truck or other heavy equipment.
• Basic computer and keyboarding skills.
• Current Provincial Drivers License with no more than 4 demerits.
