POSITION SUMMARY:
This position is responsible for leading the environmental, health and safety function across Sekisui America Corporation (SAC) North American subsidiaries. This incumbent will be responsible for creating a world class, “Safety First” culture and to ensure compliance to all Federal, State and Local requirements for all subsidiary locations as well as the SAC office.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTION(S):
- Assist all subsidiary locations in achieving EHS targets & objectives in support of Corporate, Regional Headquarters and Business Group EHS strategic initiatives.
- Review and implement environmental technical standards, guidelines, policies, and formal regulations that meet all appropriate requirements.
- Collect, synthesize, analyze, manage, and report environmental data, such as pollution emission measurements to Regional Headquarters and Corporate Headquarters.
- Provide advice, assist, and audit all subsidiary locations to ensure that effective EHS guidelines are implemented and working.
- Provide advice on proper standards and regulations or the development of policies, strategies, or codes of practice for environmental and safety management.
- Develop and maintain positive working relationships with subsidiary management and employees, regulatory agencies, and business partners.
- Conduct EHS audits or inspections or investigations of violations.
- Assist in the preparation and management of department budget.
- Develop methods to minimize the impact of production processes on the environment, based on the study and assessment of industrial production, environmental legislation, and physical, biological, and social environments.
- Process and review environmental permits, licenses, or related materials.
- Monitor and understand safety and health regulations and provide technical support to all subsidiary and SAC employees to ensure compliance with Federal, State and Local safety and environmental regulations.
- Assist in identification, analysis and control of occupational hazards requiring the application of professional knowledge, skill and abilities.
- Apply knowledge of psychological and physiological factors to assist in the design of safety features and controls, compensating for the possibility of human errors in the operation of machinery and equipment.
- Review accidents and incidents which occur using thorough root cause analysis as needed. Conduct internal audits; reporting and managing the corrective actions where assistance is needed.
- Provide safety training guidance to management to ensure safety standards are met.
- Serve as an advisor to group companies on specific projects and operations.
- Analyze incident reports, metrics and injury case studies and institute changes.
- Visit to SAC RHQ on regular basis (e.g. monthly), subsidiaries (as needed and/or appropriate) and SC HQ Japan (e.g. annually).

Must speak and write fluent English.
Certifications & Licenses:
CSP (Certified Safety Professional) is a plus
CMSE a plus
