Huawei Finland Research Center is looking for an expert working on the battery simulation and lifetime management research related to silicon/graphite anodes.
Responsibilities
• Developing codes for battery simulation models (electrochemical, thermal, mechanical, abuse) in connection with data driven models (lab test data, field data), considering also unique characteristics of silicon/graphite anodes.
• Model-based framework for predicting nonlinear aging behavior of batteries, including model rapid loss of active silicon in silicon-graphite electrodes.
• Extending battery life involves charging and using optimization, which involves electrochemical models and machine learning.
• Track the academic frontiers and research trends of battery lifetime prediction technologies in Europe, and help Huawei maintain long-term and good cooperation relationships with universities.
Requirements
• Studied in either battery research, energy storage, material science, mechanical engineering, physics, chemistry, electrochemistry, or any related field, Master degree is required and Ph.D degree is preferred.
• Expertise in mathematical modeling of the electrochemical behavior of electrochemical cells using PDEs or systems of ODEs.
• Knowledge of electrode swelling and thermal runaway mechanisms.
• Proficient in at least one major compiled programming language like Python, Matlab & Simulink, Comsol, finite elements, or finite volume tools.
• Fluent in written and spoken English as working language. Good communication skills and multi-cultural environment adaptability.
