KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Project Planning and Coordination:
- Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and subcontractors to develop commissioning plans tailored to each solar project.
- Coordinate commissioning activities with construction schedules to ensure timely completion of solar installations.
Commissioning Execution:
- Lead on-site commissioning activities, including system testing, equipment calibration, and performance verification.
- Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues during commissioning to ensure the functionality and safety of solar PV systems.
- Conduct comprehensive inspections to validate compliance with design specifications, industry standards, and regulatory requirements.
Documentation, Reporting, and QA/QC:
- Generate comprehensive commissioning reports documenting test procedures, results, and any deviations from project requirements.
- Maintain accurate records of equipment specifications, warranties, and maintenance procedures for future reference.
- Conduct QA/QC inspections and compile QA/QC documents from all stages of system construction.
Team Leadership and Training:
- Provide leadership and guidance to commissioning technicians and subcontractors, fostering a culture of safety, quality, and excellence.
- Conduct training sessions to enhance the technical skills and knowledge of commissioning team members, ensuring proficiency in industry best practices.
Client Communication:
- Serve as the primary point of contact for client representatives during the commissioning phase, addressing inquiries, and providing status updates.
- Collaborate with clients to facilitate acceptance testing and system handover, ensuring alignment with project expectations.
Continuous Improvement:
- Identify opportunities to optimize commissioning processes and improve operational efficiency.
- Stay informed about advancements in solar technology, regulatory requirements, and industry trends to inform best practices and enhance project outcomes.
Operations Management:
- Develop and implement comprehensive O&M plans to optimize the performance and lifespan of solar PV systems.
- Monitor system performance metrics, including energy production, efficiency, and downtime, to identify trends and opportunities for improvement.
- Coordinate with energy management systems to schedule maintenance activities and optimize energy output.
Preventive Maintenance:
- Establish preventive maintenance schedules for solar PV components, including modules, inverters, tracking systems, and electrical infrastructure.
- Conduct routine inspections and diagnostic tests to identify potential issues and address them proactively, minimizing the risk of system failures.
Corrective Maintenance:
- Respond promptly to equipment failures, alarms, and performance deviations, diagnosing root causes and implementing timely repairs.
- Coordinate with internal teams and external vendors to procure replacement parts and services as needed, ensuring minimal downtime and optimal system uptime.
Safety and Compliance:
- Enforce strict adherence to safety protocols, industry regulations, and O&M best practices to protect personnel and assets.
- Maintain accurate documentation of maintenance activities, equipment inspections, and compliance records for regulatory purposes.
Team Leadership and Development:
- Lead and mentor a team of O&M technicians, providing guidance, training, and performance feedback to foster a culture of excellence and continuous improvement.
- Coordinate technician schedules, assignments, and resources to ensure effective coverage and timely completion of maintenance tasks.
Performance Monitoring and Reporting:
- Generate regular reports on system performance, maintenance activities, and key performance indicators (KPIs) for internal stakeholders and clients.
- Analyze O&M data to identify trends, optimize maintenance strategies, and enhance overall system reliability and efficiency.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Proven experience in solar commissioning, operations, and maintenance management, with a strong understanding of PV system components, operation, and maintenance best practices.
- Demonstrated leadership skills, with experience managing teams in a technical or field service environment.
- Proficiency in interpreting technical drawings, specifications, and equipment manuals.
- Excellent problem-solving abilities and attention to detail, with the ability to diagnose and resolve complex technical issues effectively.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to liaise with internal stakeholders, clients, and vendors.
- Knowledge of relevant safety regulations, industry standards, and best practices related to solar energy, commissioning, and O&M.
