JOB SUMMARY: This position is located in Jean Lafitte National Historical Park and Preserve, in the Interpretation Division. This is a temporary promotion not to exceed 1 year and can be extended up to 5 years. This temporary promotion may be made permanent without further competition. MAJOR DUTIES: As a Supervisory Park Ranger (Interpretation) you will perform the following duties: Developing parkwide policy, reviewing park operations, recommending management direction, goals and other objectives. Formulates programs, reconciles and assures accountability of funds providing for the Division. Responsible for the full range of supervisory responsibilities. Works closely with park partners, local and state agencies, and cooperating associations to plan, collaborate and cooperate on a variety of educational, interpretative, outreach and safety issues. Manages the parks interpretive and interpretative planning program, developing approaches to operations and leads special planning initiatives, i.e., commemorations, anniversaries, special events.
