Commercial Support Supervisor (CSS) reports to the Commercial Operations Director. The CSS will be responsible for overseeing the maintenance of client accounts within our recycling services group. The CSS plays a vital role in ensuring client satisfaction, managing account relationships, ensures compliance with company policies and established regulations pertaining to environmental health & safety; security; cost controls; product quality and quantity specifications; and reports on service issues and projects.
This position operates within broad parameters. The primary goal of this position is to achieve excellence in all facets of customer service, including providing one off pricing to new accounts. As well as providing the highest quality service safely, effectively, and efficiently decreases service gaps and errors to increase profits.
Responsibilities:
Client Relationship Management:
Build and maintain strong relationships with existing clients, serving as the primary point of contact for account-related inquiries and issues.
Proactively identify client needs and opportunities for account growth and expansion.
Conduct regular account reviews to assess performance, address concerns, and identify areas for improvement.
Operational Oversight:
Coordinate with internal teams to ensure timely and accurate servicing of accounts.
Monitor account activities and performance metrics to identify trends, patterns, and potential bottlenecks.
Develop and implement strategies to optimize operational efficiency and enhance service delivery.
Compliance and Quality Assurance:
Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and company policies related to recycling operations and account management.
Conduct regular audits and quality checks to maintain high standards of service quality and adherence to established processes.
Address any compliance issues or discrepancies in a timely and effective manner.
Specific Other Responsibilities (regional, local, compliance, etc.):
Supports the Company’s Anticorruption Program through compliance with the Anticorruption Manual and all Anticorruption Controls.
Contributes to a strong “tone at the top” regarding compliance with the Anticorruption Program by providing leadership and direction to managers and employees.
Internal Control Responsibilities:
Supports the Company’s Internal Control process which includes understanding, communicating, and complying with defined internal controls as well as suggesting and making modifications to the policies, procedures and controls to better relate to the business.
Communicates upward problems in operations, noncompliance with the code of conduct, or other policy violations or illegal actions.
Supervisory Responsibility:
This position has no direct supervisory responsibilities but will be required to work with cross-functional teams.
Job Conditions:
Standard office environment associated with industrial settings. Work pressure can be substantial during peak times, requiring considerable adaptability; disturbances of workflow, and/or irregularities in work schedule are expected and occur on and intermittent basis. Position may see odd hours of work due to the nature of the position and business.
Physical Activities Required to Perform Essential Functions:
Ability to: lift and carry up to 10 pounds occasionally; sit for extended periods of time, up to 6-8 hours per day; write by hand and keyboard for extended periods of time, up to 6-8 hours per day; assemble papers, paper punch, staple, file; apply sufficient force to open and close file drawers. Ability to communicate by speech and hearing continuously. Communication is primarily by phone, email and sometimes in person, with other departments within the Radius Group. Visual acuity needed for close detail work, preparing, and analyzing data figures, accounting, and computer use.
Qualifications:
- Minimum of 3 years’ experience in account maintenance or in the business of recycling of various commodities and other recyclable material.
- Previous experience in an industrial or manufacturing environment with multiple operating units or related field preferred.
- The ability to apply principles of logical thinking to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.
- Strong planning, organizational and project management skills.
- Ability to work and cooperate with others to complete various tasks with established deadlines.
- Strong oral and written communication skills and the ability to leverage these skills to successfully present business cases and resolve various types of negotiations.
- Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Environmental Science, or a related field preferred (or equivalent experience).
- Previous experience in account management, customer service, or operations management, preferably in the recycling or waste management industry.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills.
- Knowledge of recycling processes, regulations, and best practices is desirable.
- Proficiency in MS Office and CRM software.
