Job Purpose
As a Gas Acquisition Specialist, Americas, your core objective is to secure refrigerant gases, such as CFCs and HCFCs, by cultivating relationships with customers and industry partners. Your role involves meeting acquisition targets, negotiating agreements, and liaising with local authorities for permits. Leveraging your sales acumen and networking abilities, you'll expand our customer base while adhering to regulatory standards. By driving effective sales strategies and leveraging data insights, you'll contribute to our sustainable growth in the carbon industry. Your mission is to strategically acquire gas resources, uphold regulations, and propel our organization's success in resource management within a concise and dynamic framework.
Reports To
Commercial Vice President, Carbon Solutions, Office-based in the specified A-Gas region with regional travel as needed.
Key Responsibilities
Sales and Customer Engagement:
- Develop and maintain a robust pipeline of "Get Gas" opportunities in the Americas, with a focus on Mexico south.
- Consistently meet or exceed monthly gas acquisition targets.
- Engage with a high volume of new and existing customers through phone calls, emails, and in-person visits.
- Proactively contact new businesses and accounts that have not yet sold refrigerant to A-Gas.
- Strengthen existing relationships to ensure the acquisition of all available decommissioned CFCs and HCFCs.
- Create and implement an acquisition strategy to attract new customers and expand opportunities.
- Establish buying agreements with distributors and end-users
Relationship Building and Networking:
- Build relationships with local refrigerant companies to identify upcoming opportunities for CFC and HCFC removal.
- Attend refrigerant and carbon-related trade shows in the region as needed.
- Maintain a working relationship with the local Ministry of Environment in each country.
- Collaborate with the Ministries to obtain export permits in a timely manner.
Data Management and Strategy:
- Utilize Salesforce CRM to maintain accurate records of customer interactions, sales activities, and acquisition processes.
- Generate regular reports and updates for management regarding sales performance, market trends and customer feedback.
- Conduct market assessments, competitor analysis, and pricing strategies.
- Develop a call schedule to adequately cover the territory.
- Participate in bi-weekly/weekly meetings with the Commercial Vice President, Carbon Solutions to optimize strategy and achieve budget goals.
Risk Management and Compliance:
- Collaborate with the Carbon Technical team to ensure compliance with all relevant regulations and industry standards relating to gas acquisition and management.
- Identify and mitigate potential risks associated with gas acquisition processes and customer relationships.
Qualification, skills, knowledge and experience
Essential:
- Bachelor's degree preferred, or 3+ years of industry experience.
- Bi-lingual in English and Spanish.
- Strong willingness to travel as needed and work flexible hours.
- Proven ability to consistently achieve or exceed sales targets.
- Ability to build and maintain strategic relationships with customers, partners, and regulatory authorities.
- Proficiency in utilizing CRM systems, such as Salesforce.
- Exceptional communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Excellent time management skills and adaptability in a fast-paced environment.
- Possession of a valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
Desirable:
- Strong analytical and research skills for effective market assessments and competitor analysis.
- Experience in negotiating and establishing buying agreements.
- Familiarity with environmental regulations and industry standards related to gas acquisition.
- Understanding of risk management principles and experience in implementing mitigation strategies.
