Project summary
Members provide support for regional agencies, municipalities, and non-profits that support municipalities by enhancing capacity for greater climate resilience. In many cases, these initiatives are the creation or the implementation of climate action plans or other municipal plans that aid in their environmental resilience. Resilience Corps members are increasing capacity at small municipalities (including highly threatened coastal towns and islands) to become more resilient to climate change.
Opportunity description
The Resilience Corps recruits 12 Fellows annually for a year-long role. Each position has a unique host site and project, with opportunities for collaboration, shared professional development, and monthly all-cohort days of service. Responsibilities may include: Data analysis or mapping. Research, report writing. Outreach and engagement . Communication and education. Volunteer management. Project management and implementation of climate and environmental resilience initiatives.

Requirements and qualifications
Requirements
Some college experience required. Ability to work on a computer for roughly 8 hours per day. Ability to travel to and from our office in Portland, ME and other locations in the greater Portland region .
Preferred qualifications
College degree. Educational background and/or experience in environmental studies, environmental science, urban planning, or geography.
