Exciting opportunity to play a leadership role in the conservation of one of the most endangered whales on the planet.
The New England Aquarium's Anderson Cabot Center is looking for a marine mammal photo-identification expert to help lead a dedicated team at the New England Aquarium working to understand and protect the North Atlantic right whale. After over 40 years of managing the catalog for this species, we now know almost every individual left alive. The data in the catalog serve as the cornerstone of what we know about this species; those data are used to track the population size, reproduction, health, and anthropogenic injuries. The Aquarium currently has many departments working on the issues right whales face and the integration of those efforts amplifies the impact of our work.
