Project summary
A program of the American Climate Corps, the Working Lands Climate Corps will engage at least 100 young adults in technical skills training in climate-smart agriculture and forestry practices at host sites across the country.
Opportunity description
The WLCC member will work to identify populations and areas that can be targeted for education and outreach on climate smart practices applicable to our area and work with partners to host events, publish outreach materials, and identifying targets populations for additional outreach and technical assistance. They will also assist CLMCD with conservation planning, site visits, and program management activities to reduce non-point source pollution through the watersheds program.

Requirements and qualifications
Requirements
Be at least 17 years old at the start of service. Have a high school diploma or equivalent or agree to obtain a high school diploma prior to using the earned education award. Be a citizen, national, or lawful permanent resident alien of the United States. Satisfy the National Service Criminal History Check eligibility criteria. Other qualifications may be required by the host site.
Preferred qualifications
Bachelor of Arts/Science in an agriculture/natural resource-related program such as: agriculture marketing, agriculture/natural resources education, agriculture/natural resources management, natural resource leadership, environmental education etc. Enjoy working with rural private landowners. Valid state-issued driver’s license & reliable personal transportation. Basic knowledge of agriculture management and processes. Baseline knowledge of watersheds and non-point pollution. Excellent written/verbal communication skills. Excellent computer skills – Microsoft office suite.Experience with water quality sampling procedures/ protocol. Knowledge base of agriculture issues. Experience with community outreach.
