The Role
To meet Paris Agreement goals, an economy-wide transition in which companies transition away from existing activities towards better alternatives is critical just as much as transitioning into pure play green alternatives.
The successful candidate for this position will have strong analytical skills and excellent writing skills, as well as the ability to demonstrate initiative and capability to conduct high quality research projects independently as necessary and within timelines.
What you'll be doing:
- Conduct comprehensive research and analysis on global/domestic policy and regulatory frameworks relevant to sustainable finance, climate risk, hard to abate sectors, transition, resilience etc.
- Help develop policy briefs, detailed reports, and engaging presentations to share research findings and recommendations with key stakeholders.
- Proactively monitor and analyse policy developments and regulatory changes in the domestic ecosystem at the sectoral level related but not limited to sustainable finance, climate risk, transition, resilience; ensuring that the team is informed of key announcements and events.
- Identify stakeholders to seek feedback and input into policy papers.
- Establish and develop relationships with relevant academic, think-tanks or industry peers on core policy topics.
- Participate in conferences, workshops, and other events to represent Climate Bonds Initiative, share our research findings, and build networks with key stakeholders.
- Assist in identifying market-policy intersections to design effective uptake strategies.
- Support organisation of dialogues and research as assigned and support with presentations, research inputs as considered necessary by HSAP and Deputy Head for external and internal communication.
- Be available to travel as required.
We'd love to hear from you if you can demonstrate the following.
- At least 4 years experience in a similar role.
· Proven record of independently authored well-researched policy reports, papers and briefings.
· Ability to identify and analyse events that shape policy developments.
- Proven ability to independently conduct high quality financial research and analyse large quantities of information across different datasets.
- Proven excellent written and verbal communication skills, able to interpret complex issues for various audiences and present information in an accessible and engaging manner.
- A proven track record of identifying needs and proactively delivering high quality reports / analytical outputs with impactful and compelling messaging.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills, able to effectively identify and engage with a wide range of internal and external stakeholders.
- Rigorous attention to detail.
- Ability to function independently and to liaise with geographically dispersed multi-cultural team.
- Openness to change and ability to manage complexities.
