The salary ranges for duty locations are as follows: Arcata, California: $103,409 - $158,860 Santa Rosa, California: $128,717 - $191,900 Roseburg, Oregon: $103,409 - $158,860 MAJOR DUTIES: As a Supervisory Fish Biologist/Supervisory Natural Resource Management Specialist, you will perform the following duties: Provide oversight and policy guidance for the implementation of the Endangered Species Act (ESA), the National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA), the Marine Mammal Protection Act (MMPA), and the Magnuson-Stevens Act (MSA) programs and provide counsel to management and outside entities. Analyze the environmental impacts of human activities on marine, estuarine, and anadromous fish habitats and conservation of protected species and implement strategic priorities, such as catch limits, to prevent overfishing and rebuild depleted stocks. Write concise documents such as briefs, biological opinions, plans and technical correspondence that clearly present scientific and technical information and data to promote understanding and cooperation. Lead, manage, and provide strategic guidance on Branch programs and projects to meet regional priorities. Exercise full supervisory authority including: evaluating work performance; developing performance standards; advising employees; reviewing and approving disciplinary actions; approving expenses, overtime, and employee travel.
