JOB SUMMARY: This position is located in the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA), Office of the Chief Administrative Officer (OCAO) with one vacancy in Honolulu, HI. MAJOR DUTIES: As an Administrative Program Specialist, you will perform the following duties: Work with customers to document administrative and programmatic issues. Carry out assignments that are well established such as developing reports and spreadsheets, carrying out reviews of administrative and programmatic products and ensuring completion, and assisting managers in the completion of program area assignments. Perform data gathering and evaluation according to established reporting methodology. Utilize results of data reviews to provide recommendations and/or develop implementation plans that serve to improve overall organizational effectiveness. Coordinate new or modified administrative/program policies, regulations, or objectives with customers to achieve effective operations and works with customers to ensure understanding. Coordinate briefings, special reports, and responses to data requests for use by higher specialists. Participate in organizational performance reviews, staff visits, program reviews, resource reviews and other internal/external reviews. Develop mastery of the enterprise tools used to define, collect, analyze and report the data used to assess mission performance. Tools include relational databases, spreadsheets, multi-dimensional models, presentation software, web tools, ad hoc queries, reports and descriptive statistics.
