Job Brief
The Senior Manager, Sourcing will be responsible for building and managing the Sourcing and Supplier Quality Engineering Team. They will lead the team in charge of supplier selection, supplier relations, placement of orders, and inventory levels, to ensure cost, quality, and delivery targets are met during the new product introduction phase. In addition to providing direct supervision support for the sourcing team members, as well as supplier quality engineer, this individual works collaboratively with Accounting, Engineering and Supply Chain to plan and purchase appropriate components and supplies. They will be responsible for reviewing technology roadmaps, new product forecasts, supplier qualification, supplier follow-up and coordination to resolve supply issues.
This position is hybrid reporting to our Alameda, CA site with visits to our Berkeley HQ.
What you will do
- Responsible for PLM (Product Lifecycle Management) system accuracy, execution and change management in terms of Item Numbers and Bill of Materials. Directly manage all Sourcing aspects for specific key commodities.
- Analyze and calculate costs of procurement, optimize sourcing procedures and suggest methods to balance decrease expenditure and maximize efficiency.
- Lead negotiations and spearhead robust RFPs to secure optimal terms and drive P&L value with exceptional industry analysis, benchmarking, negotiation and contract management skills.
- Establish a seamless contract execution, supplier onboarding, and approval process. Takes initiative on follow-up quotations, revisions, terms and conditions with suppliers for specific key commodities.
- Assist in the establishment and administration of policies, procedures and systems.
- Responsible for leading a team of Sourcing and Supplier Quality Engineers to identify and optimize new sources while driving Total Cost of Ownership (TCO) process improvements to reduce costs.
- Provide supervisory counseling, direction, and mentoring to team members to move from generalized skillset to more specialized functions.
- Partner with all elements of sourcing and cross functional partners (Technology Development, Purchasing, Finance and Operations).
Who you are
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Supply Chain, Engineering or other relevant fields.
- 12+ years of related experience in sourcing, with management experience in a rapid growth environment.
- Work in a cross functional team environment as a strong team player and demonstrate ability to work with other functional groups to achieve company-wide goals.
- Proven ability to source, onboard, and contract negotiations with suppliers (international experience a plus).
- Proven ability to define team strategy and build operating plans to achieve vision and long-term goals.
- Strong organizational and problem-solving skills, with the ability to prioritize effectively and efficiently in a fast-paced environment
- Excellent verbal and written communication abilities.
- Proficient in PLM and ERP systems (Oracle Fusion a plus)
- Strong Excel skills

United States Wage Range: $156,000 - $185,250
