JOB SUMMARY: This position is located at Little Bighorn Battlefield National Monument, Region 7, National Park Service. The incumbent serves as a Park Ranger for the division of Interpretation and Visitor Services by ensuring the interpretive staff connects with all types of audiences through digital content (e.g., the web, social media, mobile technology, live broadcast, podcasts, virtual tours) to introduce, inform, engage, and strengthen relationships between the public and their national parks. MAJOR DUTIES: The major duties of the Park Ranger (Interpretation) position include, but are not limited to, the following: Ensures the interpretive staff develop/deliver in-park, off-site, and/or virtual education programs that tie NPS resources to education standards (national, state, and local) and/or are aligned with needs of educational organizations and their students. Trains, coaches, and audits other rangers in interpretive services; develops work schedules; plans work to be accomplished, establishes priorities, prepares schedules, assigns work based on capabilities of employees and reviews completed work, assuring that production and accuracy. Actively engage and interact with local communities through on and off-site representation and interpretive programming. Serves as the National Park Service coordinator with Western National Parks Association (WNPA). Helps commercial service providers understand applicable regulations and policies.
