GS-05: Salary: $47,705 (Step 01) to $58,114 (Step 10);
GS-06: Salary: $49,835 (Step 01) to $64,787 (Step 10);
GS-07: Salary: $55,378 (Step 01) to $71,993 (Step 10);
The selectee will be entitled to a cost-of-living allowance of 1.69% in addition to the basic salary.
As an Administrative Operations Assistant for the Alaska Science Center, you will be serving as the liaison between the Human Resources office and science center staff. Some of your specific duties will include:
All three grade levels perform a wide range of tasks similar in nature to those described in the above listing of functional area duties and responsibilities. At the two lower levels the employee will be assigned work designed to further develop and refine their technical knowledge and skills. Assignments will typically combine productive work with ongoing training and instruction. Supervision received at the two lower grade levels will be closer with oversight and review being provided on a regular basis.

Possess one year of specialized experience in or directly related to this position that equipped the applicant with the knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform successfully the duties of this position. To be creditable, the required specialized experience must have been equivalent to at least the GS-04 level in the Federal service.
Example of GS-4 level work: Performs a full range of assignments consisting of related steps, processes or methods; responses differ in nature and sequence; requires knowledge of an organization's programs and operations, rules and processes. Exercises initiative in completing recurring assignments; uses judgment in selecting appropriate guidelines and procedures from among a number of specific references.
**OR Possess a full four years of progressive, successfully completed education above the high school level in any field for which high school graduation or the equivalent is a prerequisite may be used to meet the qualification requirements for GS-5. **OR Possess equivalent combinations of successfully completed post-high school education and specialized experience may be used to meet the qualification requirements for GS-5.
