JOB SUMMARY: This position is located in Everglades National Park, in the Visitor and Resource Protection Division. Open to the first 100 applicants or until 05/09/2024 whichever comes first. MAJOR DUTIES: Lead three or more full-time employees on a regular and recurring basis in which the highest subordinate grade level is GS-05. Distribute and balance the workload among employees in accordance with established work flow or job specialization, assure timely accomplishment of the assigned workload, and assure that each employee has enough work to keep busy. Keep in touch with the status and progress of work and make day-to-day adjustments in accordance with established priorities, obtaining assistance from the supervisor on problems that may arise. Estimate and report on expected time of completion of work and maintain records of work accomplishments and time expended and prepare production reports as requested. Instruct employees in specific tasks and job techniques and make available written instructions, reference materials, and supplies. Provide on the job training, mentoring, and coaching to employees, volunteers, and/or interns in accordance with established procedures and practices. Answer questions of other employees on procedures, policies, directives, etc. and obtain needed information or decisions from supervisor on problems that come up. AREA/DUTY STATION INFORMATION: Miami has a major airport, advanced medical care, and recreational and shopping areas. The area has a subtropical climate, which is characterized by hot, humid summers with frequent rain, and mild winters. Hurricanes and other types of severe weather are common June through November.
