JOB SUMMARY: This position is located in a USDA Natural Resources Conservation Service state, area, or field office in Palmer, Alaska. The Snow Survey program collects, prepares, and issues snow survey data, water supply forecasts, and other hydrologic analyses to soil and water conservation districts, federal and state agencies, the public, and other appropriate parties. This is a time-limited appointment not-to-exceed 3 years with possibility for extension for an additional 2 years upon approval. MAJOR DUTIES: Assists in the preparation of the Water Supply Outlook Report (WSOR), Surface Water Supply Index (SWSI) and other products on a monthly basis through the winter and spring.
