JOB SUMMARY: This position is located within the Department of Commerce (DOC), National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA), National Marine Fisheries Service (NMFS), Pacific Island Regional Office (PIRO), Sustainable Fisheries Division (SFD) with one (1) vacancy located in Honolulu, HI. This is a competitive Temporary Promotion position not to exceed 1 year. This could be extended or made permanent. MAJOR DUTIES: As a Supervisory Fish and Wildlife Administrator, you will perform the following duties: Lead and supervise division personnel to ensure effective and efficient application of available resources toward managing fish stocks important to commercial, recreational, and subsistence fisheries in the region to accomplish regional goals and objectives in support of NOAA Fisheries Strategic Plan. Ensure timely and effective completion of all administrative, routine and urgent work assignments and maintain familiarity with policies that govern agency administrative operations and keep the division chief apprised of important and controversial administrative and program issues. Effectively use resources, provide high-quality information, and effectively communicate among constituents for all division activities; ensure that staff work with other divisions, science center, council staff and others to identify information needed for management support. Convey the NOAA NMFS image and message through variety of media to foster understanding and solicit responses, ideas and feedback and represent the region when coordinating with federal agencies, state and territorial governments, non- governmental organizations and constituents.
