JOB SUMMARY: This position is a Supervisory Fish and Wildlife Biologist, GS- 0401-12, working in Tulsa, OK, for the Oklahoma Ecological Services Field Office. MAJOR DUTIES: As a Supervisory Fish and Wildlife Biologist your duties will include but are not limited to the following: Serves as a supervisor, exercising the full range of supervisory and managerial duties for the staff including, but not limited to, administrative and technical guidance, written correspondence development and review, evaluating work performance, identifying training and mentoring needs, budget development, and prioritizing workload to carry out the Service's responsibilities. Provides scientific and policy review and recommendations on actions involving federally listed species, designated critical habitat, migratory birds, and at-risk species. Carries out the Service's Congressionally legislated authorities, court-mandated actions, Treaty and Native American Trust Responsibilities, Department of the Interior (Interior) Policies and National Goals, including, but not limited to, the Endangered Species Act, the Fish and Wildlife Coordination Act, the Migratory Bird Treaty Act, the Clean Water Act, the National Environmental Policy Act, Sikes Act, numerous other Federal laws, policies, and administrative regulations. Coordinates and facilitates activities such as endangered species consultations; species status assessments, development of habitat conservation plans, critical habitat designations, recovery plan development and listing/delisting efforts; implementing habitat restoration actions; working with states, Native American tribes, and other federal agencies on land and water management issues; developing and implementing conservation and recovery actions; conducting species status surveys and appropriate research studies. Coordinates wide ranging initiatives with Native American tribes, states, other federal agencies, other organizations, and partners to conserve fish and wildlife and their ecosystems.
