Project summary
The Campus Compact AmeriCorps VISTA program places AmeriCorps VISTA members with campus and community partners. During this year, members spend 35 hours per week on their host site’s campus to work on building systems and programs that support low-income college students and community members. The VISTA member works to build community capacity by enhancing or creating systems, structures, and resources.
Opportunity description
CRC’s Climate Action Education program aims to increase awareness and understanding of climate change and its impacts in frontline communities, particularly among youth. The VISTA will help strengthen this initiative by bringing focus to documentation and assessment. The VISTA will lead the development and implementation of tracking tools and systems to measure success and support implementation of the program, as well as expand partnerships with community partners.

Requirements and qualifications
Requirements
BA/BS or equivalent experience. US citizen, national, DACA status, or legal permanent resident. Must be able to complete a federal background check. Valid driver's license and access to personal vehicle.
Preferred qualifications
Passionate about mitigating climate change. particularly in underserved communities. Excellent written and oral communication skills. Excellent human relation skills. Knowledge of educational techniques and social media strategy. Proficiency with Microsoft Suite and cloud-based applications. Bilingual in Spanish.
