Project summary
A program of the American Climate Corps, the Working Lands Climate Corps will engage at least 100 young adults in technical skills training in climate-smart agriculture and forestry practices at host sites across the country.
Opportunity description
Members will focus on supporting partner programs to connect landowners with available resources from USDA’s NRCS regarding Climate-Smart Agriculture and Forestry. This will be accomplished through supporting the creation of outreach materials, reaching underserved communities with Climate Smart Agriculture and Forestry practices, and supporting trainings on climate-smart practices. Members will gain skills for job readiness and improve transferable skills, such as teamwork and verbal communication. Requirements and qualifications
Requirements
Be at least 17 years old at the start of service. Have a high school diploma or equivalent or agree to obtain a high school diploma prior to using the earned education award. Be a citizen, national, or lawful permanent resident alien of the United States. Satisfy the National Service Criminal History Check eligibility criteria. Other qualifications may be required by the host site.
