Project summary
This project engages members in a variety of projects related to environmental stewardship, wildland fire, and disaster response. Projects may include invasive species removal, habitat restoration, prescribed burning, wildfire response, disaster relief and mitigation, recreation site improvements, and trail building.
Opportunity description
Over an 11-month term, full-time National Service Volunteers on the 42-Member Emergency Response Team (ERT) will gain experience and training in the fields of environmental stewardship, wildland fire, and disaster response. Teams complete projects in partnership with nonprofit, local, state, and federal agencies. No prior experience is necessary, and all experience is welcome. There are as many as 46 openings for this position.

Requirements and qualifications
Requirements
Must be graduates, GED recipients, working on attaining a High School diploma or GED during their term of service. Be 17 years or older (no upper age limit). Pass a national service criminal history check. Hold one of the following U.S. citizenship statuses: US citizen, US National, Lawful Permanent Resident. Have a valid driver’s license or other government issued photo identification.
