Project summary

CCC Corpsmembers perform service conservation work that focuses on forest health, fuel reduction, vegetation management, emergency response, wilderness and urban trails, salmon restoration, and wildland firefighting. A typical term of service is one year, however, Corpsmembers can stay in the program up to three years. Corpsmembers can also apply to partnered programs working in the backcountry, on energy projects, improving endangered fish habitat, and more!

Opportunity description

Corpsmembers enrolled in the Watershed Stewards Program (WSP) perform watershed and fisheries work alongside scientific professionals. Work can include surveys, water quality projects, and salmon restoration, in addition to organizing volunteers and leading educational events. Corspmembers also receive training and education to benefit their future career pathways and serve a full AmeriCorps service term.

Requirements and qualifications

Requirements

High School diploma. possess or willing to obtain a California Driver’s License with a clean driving record — no more than two (2) points on California driver’s record. able and willing to engage in hard work outdoors in all weather conditions. willing to work with diverse groups of individuals.

Preferred qualifications

Experience in conducting watershed restoration, conducting environmental surveys, or analyzing scientific data. Interest in environmental education and volunteer management.
