Project summary
Engage young people, ages 18-24 AmeriCorps members will be in environmental stewardship by removing invasive species and debris removal to address impacts of urban heat and climate change on Environmentally Endangered Lands as well as tree planting to increase the canopy in urban areas. Members will also perform education awareness, energy audits and retrofitting to include LED light bulbs, replace shower heads, HVAC filters, smart strips, and safety items such as carbon monoxide detectors.
Opportunity description
There are 15 openings. Restoring, Protecting and Preserving Environmentally Endangered Land (EEL) and other Public Lands by means of land restoration, maintenance, and improvement such as litter and debris removal, removal of invasive plant species, building trails, planting trees in parks with low-tree canopy. Members will perform energy efficiency retrofits of LED light bulbs, replace shower heads, replace HVAC filters, smart strips, and safety items such as carbon monoxide detectors.
