Project summary

The Campus Compact AmeriCorps VISTA program places AmeriCorps VISTA members with campus and community partners. During this year, members spend 35 hours per week on their host site’s campus to work on building systems and programs that support low-income college students and community members. The VISTA member works to build community capacity by enhancing or creating systems, structures, and resources.

Opportunity description

In February 2021, Agnes Scott College and the City of Decatur, Georgia completed a joint Climate Resilience Plan (CRP). The VISTA Member will work to enact this plan by fostering a culture of service-learning through the lens of sustainability, climate action and justice on campus and in the broader community.

Requirements and qualifications

Requirements

BA/BS or equivalent experience, US citizen, national, DACA status, or legal permanent resident, Must be able to complete a federal background check, Valid driver's license and access to personal vehicle.

Preferred qualifications

Excellent customer service skills. Knowledge of environmental sustainability and climate action. Ability to work independently. Proficiency in Microsoft Suites and Google Workspace. Good communications skills.
