Job Summary: We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Benefits Analyst to join our Human Resources team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in benefits administration, a deep understanding of employee benefits programs, and excellent analytical skills. The Benefits Analyst will play a crucial role in ensuring the effective implementation, communication, and administration of our employee benefits programs in the US and Canada.
The Benefits department of Extrusion North America oversees benefits for approximately 5,700 US employees and 570 Canadian employees. Programs for which we are responsible include: Health and Welfare benefits, voluntary benefits, 401(k), Leave and Disability, COBRA, Retiree medical and Canadian Defined contributions and Health & Welfare Plans.

- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in human resources, business administration or related field
- Related professional courses/certification (CEBS, PHR, SHRM-CP) preferred

Job Responsibilities:
- Oversee implementation, transition and administration of new and current benefit programs and vendor services including developing of administrative procedures, legal and compliance documents, and documentation of processes, both internally and with external vendors.
- Perform audits to identify and correct discrepancies within internal and external vendor systems.
- Address employee inquiries and concerns related to benefits and lead the resolution of confirmed benefits-related issues, collaborating with other HR team members and vendor partners, providing timely and accurate information.
- Update, maintain and follow standard operating procedures. Recommend process improvements and potential to automate recurring administrative processes.
- Develop and communicate file specifications and test plans to ensure programs and reports support the benefit plan designs and ERISA and IRS requirements.
- Provides technical research, plan interpretation and educational support to Regional and plant-level HR representatives.
- Liaise with benefits vendors, service providers and recordkeepers to ensure accurate data exchange between Hydro employee data systems, payroll and external administrator systems.
- Assist in all aspects of the HRIS employee experience including, enrollment process, reporting and Qualified Life events to ensure programs are configured accurately.
- Communicate benefit information to employees through various channels, ensuring clear and concise communication.
- Conduct Open Enrollment meetings to above plant employees and provide guidance on benefit options.
- Collaborate with external partners and HR team to develop Open Enrollment communications material, employee education materials and conduct training sessions on benefits.
- Develop and maintain the knowledge and skills necessary to perform position responsibilities. Stay abreast of current trends and regulatory issues surrounding benefit plan design and administration.
