DescriptionHire Resolve is currently seeking a Junior SHEQ Officer to join our client in the Renewables Industry. As a Junior SHEQ Officer, you will play a crucial role in maintaining and improving the safety, health, environmental, and quality standards within the organization. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to contribute to the growth of the renewables industry while fostering a culture of safety and sustainability.
Responsibilities:
- Assist in conducting risk assessments and hazard identification
- Assist in the development and implementation of safety, health, environmental, and quality policies and procedures
- Support the investigation of incidents, accidents, and near misses and help implement corrective and preventive actions
- Participate in internal audits to ensure compliance with regulations and standards
- Assist in the maintenance and continuous improvement of the SHEQ management system
- Monitor and report on SHEQ performance indicators
- Conduct training and awareness programs on SHEQ topics
- Support the development and implementation of emergency response plans
- Stay up-to-date with relevant legislation and industry best practices
Requirements - Relevant degree or diploma in Occupational Health and Safety, Environmental Management, or a related field
- Accredited SAMTRAC Certification
- 2 – 3 years SHEQ experience within the consulting environment
- Experience in assisting with the implementation of ISO 9001 accreditation process will be an added advantage
- Knowledge of SHEQ regulations and standards, particularly in the renewables industry
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work well independently and as part of a team
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite
- Passion for safety, health, environmental, and quality practices in the renewables industry
- Willingness to travel to project sites as required
