The Mærsk Mc-Kinney Møller Center for Zero Carbon Shipping is a global leader in the transition towards a sustainable and environmentally responsible maritime sector. Our mission is to drive the development and implementation of innovative solutions to achieve zero carbon shipping, protecting our planet's future while advancing the maritime industry and our Public Affairs team is looking for support from an enthusiastic and efficient student assistant.
As a not-for-profit and independent research and development Center we work for the greater good, people, and the planet. The Public Affairs team advocates for decarbonization through targeted engagement of key stakeholders – from political decision-makers to NGOs to businesses around the globe.
The Public Affairs team builds bridges between the techno-economic expertise of the Center and the political landscape, and we work closely with all the different teams across the Center to deliver targeted messages to selected stakeholders. Our new Student Assistant will support the various activities and goals of the Public Affairs team and will report to the Head of Public Affairs.

The tasks within the role
- Support on PA research, analysis, and presentations, e.g. in relation to the preparation of stakeholder engagement
- Support preparation of event content and material to optimize customized stakeholder engagement at important international conferences and events, including written background briefing material for the CEO and other Center representatives
- Mapping of relevant political stakeholders and their engagement
- Support on implementation of EU project on Green Corridors
- Support on implementation of cooperation with the U.S.
- Administration of PA stakeholder database
- Analyzing political context for potential Green Corridor projects
Who are we looking for?
The right candidate has a natural interest in Political frameworks, a passion for climate change, and cultural awareness. To be successful in this role, you need to be detail-oriented, and an independently driven person capable of producing tangible results.
All students are welcome to apply, regardless of academic background. Preferably you are either commencing 3rd year of a bachelor’s degree or 1st year of your Master’s.
A widespread academic interest and curiosity on how to make global maritime sector climate neutral is an advantage.

The position is based in our office in Nordhavn/Copenhagen. The Working hours are flexible, especially around examination periods, but we expect you to work 20 hours per week on average.
