JOB SUMMARY: This position is located at Lake Clark National Park and Preserve, in the Facilities Division. Government housing is available. MAJOR DUTIES: The Supervisory Facility Operations Specialist is responsible for providing facility management for a park unit with widely diversified infrastructure and operational complexity characterized by multiple developed areas within a park unit. The following duties provide stewardship of assets and facilities, ensuring visitor use and enjoyment as well as the protection of natural and cultural resources: Serve as the facility management expert and member of the park management team to develop and implement management strategies. Represent the park in public contacts; negotiates and collaborates with representatives of the service, federal, state and local agencies, historic organizations, universities and private individuals interested in the park and the service. Manage a multi-faceted organization through the management of subordinate supervisory staff, multi-year/operational budgets, and the utilization of new information technologies. Perform and maintain asset inventories and condition assessments for the purpose of developing deferred maintenance costs for annual and multi-year plans. Responsible for development and implementation of projects, and development of alternatives for facility modifications when infrastructure capabilities cannot support mission requirements. Responsible for a comprehensive safety and training program to eliminate at risk behaviors and environments and enforce regulatory policies and mandates.
