Environmental Construction Monitor
PME Inc. is based in Fort Saskatchewan, Alberta. The PME Group provides industrial and civil site work, commercia l sewer, water work, and com m on construction services to the municipal, industrial, and oil and gas industry in Canada.
We are currently seeking a position as an Environmental Construction Monitor working out of either our Fort Saskatchewan or Calgary office.
Key Information:
- Conduct environmental site inspections and assign corrective actions when necessary.
- Hourly rate is dependent on experience.

Job Description:
- Aiding in the development of documentation such as Environmental Management Plans, project ECO Plans, Care of Water plans, Temporary Erosion and Sediment Control plans.
- Primary tasks include wildlife/nest sweeps, environmental site inspections, water quality monitoring, and fish salvages.
- Supporting the imp le mentation and continuous improvement of the Environmental Management System.
- Supporting implementation, compliance, and auditing of project spill prevention and waste management processes.
- Responding to and reporting environmental incidents.
- Office/Field combination with potential overnight travel (Project work across BC through Saskatchewan).
- Supporting project team members.
- Com p le ting client prequalification documents.
- Tracking and maintaining permit application/ renewal status to support work activities.
- Support the preparation of permit applications and associated compliance reports.
Experience and Certification Requirements:
- QWSP and/or QAES with professional registration in one of Alberta's Professional Regulatory Organizations (i.e. P.Ag/RTAg or P. Biol.)
- Minimum 3-5 years of relevant experience.
- Must possess a valid driver' s license with a clean driver's abstract.
- Must possess (Or be willing to obtain prior to job start) current WHMIS 2015 and CSTS.
- Must successfully complete pre-access drug and alcohol testing.
- Knowledgeable in current best management practices and regulatory requirements for wetland assessments and applications.
- Willingness to work overtime (up to 12hr shifts) and flexibility to accommodate changing workloads.
- Ability to demonstrate leadership, quality, safety, and customer service focus.
- Diligence, organizational and time management skills.
- Excellent verbal and written communications skills.
- Proficient in the operation of Microsoft Word, Excel, Acrobat, and PowerPoint.
Education: University Degree or technical diploma is required in Environmental, Earth Science, Biology, or Environmental Engineering.
