The Saskatchewan Ministry of Environment has an exciting and challenging opportunity as a Manager in its Environmental Assessment and Stewardship Branch, where you will work with a dynamic team dedicated to supporting a results-based environmental assessment approach.
Reporting to the Executive Director of Environmental Assessment and Stewardship, the successful candidate will provide leadership and supervision to a team of interdisciplinary technical specialists. The successful candidate will provide direction and support to staff on management issues and ensure that all processes and tools are in place to support effective and accountable teams; and train and coach unit employees including assessing job performances of individuals and providing ongoing feedback. You will be responsible for developing and managing initiatives and policies that would enhance workflow and align with the branch's strategy. You will also develop and maintain effective relationships with stakeholders through effective and timely communication.
The successful candidate will possess project management skills to coordinate program and policy initiatives in the Branch. Your comprehensive knowledge relating to program planning and management principles will allow you to play a key role in leading the development of short and long-term program solutions in conjunction with the ministry's strategic plan and Branch performance. As well, you will have knowledge of current and emerging environmental assessment trends and issues and linkages to provincial economic development and resource development issues.
