The position
As an EHS Advisor, you will lead overall review on the documentation and work practices relating to EHS activities. You are also expected to manage government affairs and global/APAC requirements, activities, and events. This is a one-year contract-based position that can be extended based on the performance review.
Other key tasks will include:
- Oversee EHS training, both online and offline, for all employees.
- Serve as a member of both the APAC EHS committee and local EHS committee.
- Lead quarterly meetings of the local EHS committee and ensure accurate minutes are taken.
- Implement risk assessments for Seoul and regional offices, conduct APAC Workplace Assessments (WPA), manage the EHS portal, including accident and near-miss investigation reports, and oversee reporting and follow-up processes.
- Handle KOBACO building safety management, drive safety audits, execute Employee Assistance Program (EAP), manage employee medical check-ups and vendors, and review/update EHS policies, documents, and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) as necessary, along with providing EHS-related management for in-house subcontract.
Qualifications
- Certificate of Industrial Safety Engineer in accordance with Korean regulatory requirements.
- Bachelor's degree in environmental engineering, Health & Safety, chemical engineering, or related field.
- Preferential experience in EHS management within global companies as well as 1-3 years work experiences.
- Business-level proficiency in English for effective communication with global/APAC EHS teams.
- Strong computer skills, including MS Office proficiency, and familiarity with local laws (e.g., OSHA, SAPA). Additionally, possess accurate communication, professional demeanor, multitasking ability, and effective time management skills.
