Summary Of Position
The Facilities Services Department at Keene State College invites applications for a Sustainability Coordinator to lead, develop, and implement cross-campus sustainability initiatives and programs and manage the Office of Sustainability, a dynamic office connecting to academics, administration, operations, community partners, and contributing to the student experience. The Coordinator will lead, organize, and ensure the completion of the Sustainability Tracking, Assessment & Rating System ( STARS ) through the Association for the Advancement of Sustainability in Higher Education ( AASHE ) and use the AASHE STARS framework to inform strategic planning and methods to achieve Keene State College’s sustainability goals. Additional responsibilities include hiring and mentoring student employees and interns, working on innovative and educational topics related to sustainability. In addition to advising and overseeing student sustainability programs the coordinator provides support for campus partners implementing new sustainability goals in academics and engagement. The coordinator engages faculty, staff, and students in sustainability curricula, research, and service; maintains relationships with partners internal and external to the College to foster community engagement and social responsibility; works with departments to improve campus environmental policies and practices; and provides sustainability focused perspectives to campus committees. The coordinator also facilitates The Sustainability Council, a stakeholder advisory group that supports sustainability on campus and represents the voices of students, faculty, staff, and campus leadership.
Other Minimum Qualifications
Master’s degree in appropriate academic discipline and three years of related experience, or Bachelor’s degree in appropriate academic discipline and five years of related experience. High degree of self-motivation, initiative, and ability to work with diverse constituencies. Strong interpersonal, oral, and written communication skills. Ability to think critically and solve problems, as well as handle multiple projects simultaneously.
Additional Preferred Qualifications
Supervisory experience. Experience working independently as well as a collective team member and collaborative community partner.
