Summary:
Our award-winning client is seeking a Environmental Scientist - Geologist - Engineer to join their team.
Responsibilities:
Performing field work throughout New York State.
Soil, soil vapor, and groundwater sampling.
Perform and / or supervise field activities and drilling on construction projects.
Perform Phase I inspections.
Collect, record, and organize field data in a concise manner.
Data presentation, map creation, and report preparation.
Prepare deliverables on time and within budget.
Maintain open communication with project team members.
Represent the company in a professional manner and in line with the firm's core values.
Conduct work to professional standards and following the firm's QA/QC policy.
B.S. degree in Geology, Environmental Science, or Engineering preferred.
5-10 years of experience in a related local environmental position.
40 Hour OSHA HAZWOPER certification preferred but not required.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Ability to work in a fast-paced environmental consulting team environment.
Ability to work within a multi-disciplined group of professionals.
Strong communication skills (active listening, written, and verbal).
Organized with strong attention to detail.
Highly motivated, with excellent client service skills and a positive attitude.
Strong problem-solving skills.
Valid NYS driver’s license, lean driving record, and reliable transportation.
Skills and Abilities:
Computer skills including Microsoft office (word processing, database, spreadsheet) and GIS (ArcMap) preferred, and / or ability to learn programs with proper comprehensive training.
Field equipment use such as a photo-ionization detector (PID), pumps, and meters preferred, and / or ability to learn the operation of the equipment with proper comprehensive training.
