ChampionX has an immediate need for an SHE Specialist located in Leduc, AB.
The SHE Specialist will be primarily responsible for carrying out and coordinating the safety program. This role will be based in a chemical manufacturing plant and will require working with others on various initiatives and safety related programs.

Position Details:
Implement a positive safety culture within the Plant
Participate in the development, rollout and implementation of safety, health and environmental procedures
Daily walk-arounds in the Plant, which will include outdoor inspections
Prepare and deliver safety presentations and training on monthly basis
Coordinate with department leads to ensure employee competency in each job function
Manage and plan emergency response drills and the necessary reporting and documentation
Lead incident investigations, providing support for emergency response
Provide support for internal and external audits
Align with corporate safety policies and program rollouts
Ensure compliance with provincial and federal safety/environmental regulations
Conduct safety reviews for new chemical introductions at the facility
Process Safety Management – Develop SOPs/Conduct PHAs/Contribute to MOCs
Other duties as assigned by Safety & Quality Manager.
Position Details:
Candidate must reside in Leduc, AB or surrounding area

This role is a safety-sensitive position and the successful candidate will be required to complete pre-employment testing in accordance with ChampionX’s policy
Monday to Friday and on-site role.
Minimum Qualification:
1-3 years of previous experience in a health and safety capacity
Post-secondary degree or diploma in a field related to health and safety
Strong knowledge in occupational health and safety procedures and governing regulations (i.e., provincial, federal)
Advanced computer skills with knowledge in MS Suite
Ability to interpret regulations and be informed of recent changes related to Occupational Health and Safety Regulations
Strong communication skills and interpersonal skills
Demonstrated analytical skills and ability to carry out investigations with a problem-solving mindset
Excellent time management skills
Strong attention to detail
Preferred Qualifications:
Previous experience in a chemical manufacturing facility.
Accreditation related to health and safety (i.e, CRSP).
Process Safety Management knowledge
Ability to work independently and within a team environment.
Knowledge of environmental impacts and strategies for waste reduction
