The Senior Manager – Environment & Carbon Reduction provides advice and guidance on business practices related to environment and carbon reduction including design, implementation and enhancing environmental programs to ensure compliance with environmental regulations, company environmental and sustainability policies and international standards.
This position will initiate, track, and manage efforts to reduce water, waste, energy and green house gas (GHG) emissions whilst optimising cost effectiveness of the overall environmental program. Ultimately improving DP World’s environmental outcomes and carbon reduction.The role will report the Vice President (VP) - Health, Safety, Security and Environment (HSSE) in the Oceania cluster with a dotted line to the Vice President - HSSE - APAC.
Key Accountabilities
- In conjunction with site teams, develop and implement of standardised environmental programs, training, campaigns and initiatives to ensure compliance with internal and external requirements
- Lead the strategic delivery, development, implementation and review of carbon reduction efforts across Oceania
- Target and manage resources to maximise impact to ensure that priorities are delivered
- Develop solutions to reduce environmental impacts.
- Provide status reports regarding carbon reduction milestones, deliverables, dependencies, risks and issues and present these to stakeholders.
- Provide oversight on reporting on waste, energy, water, biodiversity and sustainability related metrics.
- Provide technical advice on energy solutions and feasibility, compliance requirements and emerging environmental and carbon reduction obligations and best practices.
Qualifications, Skills and Experience
- Bachelor's degree in Environment, Marine Biology, Environmental Sciences, Sustainable Energy or equivalent
- 5 years' of related experience with managing and overseeing environmental and sustainability programs.
- Experience with ISO 14001 would be advantageous.
- Ability to engage collaboratively and effectively with internal and external teams and associated stakeholders.
- Ability to create sustainability/ESG roadmaps and strategies.
- Knowledge of sustainability reporting and benchmarking tools.
