As a Sustainability Analyst, you will join the Corporate Sustainability Reporting and Disclosures team, reporting to the Manager of Sustainability Reporting. You will support the development of Sun Life’s sustainability reporting and disclosures, including its annual Sustainability Report. You will analyze Sun Life’s results and identify opportunities to enhance our sustainability reporting practices, working with key stakeholders across the business.
To succeed in this role, you must have strong critical thinking skills, keen attention to detail and excellent time management. We are looking for someone who can use their passion for sustainability to demonstrate through high-quality reporting and disclosures Sun Life’s progress in embedding sustainability in everything we do, to create competitive advantage for our business and have a positive impact on society.
What you will do?
Support the development of the annual Sustainability Report and associated disclosures by working cross-functionally with subject matter experts within the company to identify content for inclusion
Support the development of Sun Life’s annual CDP response by engaging with internal subject matter experts to identify content for inclusion
Perform research and analysis of sustainability reporting trends and prepare internal briefings with insights and key findings
Analyze peer performance related to sustainability reporting; identify gaps and recommendations to strengthen Sun Life’s sustainability approach
Analyze website data and produce dashboards to inform strategic decision-making
Support process documentation and improvement projects
Suggest and execute corrective actions to resolve ambiguous, complex issues
Update, monitor and review stakeholder databases
What you need to succeed?
University degree or equivalent in sustainability, business, project management or data analysis
1-3 years of relevant work experience
Ability to adapt to evolving team needs while effectively navigating complexity and ambiguity
Strong critical thinking, problem-solving skills and communication skills
Keen attention to detail when reviewing quantitative and qualitative information
Effective time management and organizational skills to meet reporting deadlines
Ability to handle multiple priorities and tight deadlines while effectively prioritizing work
Ability to effectively communicate and collaborate with teams from multiple regions, business units and functions
Ability to work both independently and as part of a team
Committed to Sun Life’s Purpose and passionate about delivering positive social and environmental impact for our Clients and stakeholders
Proficiency in the Microsoft Office suite, including pivot tables, advanced formatting and tables/graphs
Experience in corporate annual or sustainability (ESG) reporting would be an asset
Experience within insurance, asset management or financial services industry would be an asset

The Base Pay range is for the primary location for which the job is posted. It may vary depending on the work location of the successful candidate or other factors. In addition to Base Pay, eligible Sun Life employees participate in various incentive plans, payment under which is discretionary and subject to individual and company performance. Certain sales focused roles have sales incentive plans based on individual or group sales results.
