The Impact You’ll Make in this Role
You'll play a pivotal role in both the administrative and creative realms of our marketing efforts. This multifaceted position is designed for someone who thrives on variety and is passionate about organization, bringing ideas to life through graphic design. You'll be at the heart of our marketing operations, supporting the entire team administratively and creatively, ensuring that projects start on time and finish at the designated deadlines. This position will also assist senior leadership with a wide range of administrative duties.
As a Marketing Administrative Coordinator, you will have the opportunity to tap into your curiosity and collaborate with some of the most innovative and diverse people in San Antonio. Here, you will make an impact by:
Administrative Duties:
- This position will also assist the Senior Vice President of Operations and Vice President of Marketing with administrative needs to include: scheduling meetings, managing calendar, coordinating travel, preparing and assisting with communications and notations of meetings, and reviewing and answering email correspondence as needed.
- Perform Marketing administrative needs, including coordinating and scheduling marketing meetings, taking minutes, sending reminders, acting as the primary receptionist for the Marketing Department, and ordering office supplies as necessary.
Marketing Duties:
- Conceptualize and create visuals based on specific requirements, working collaboratively with the marketing team to bring ideas to life.
- Develop initial design drafts and present ideas for feedback, making necessary adjustments to align with the team's vision.
- Produce a variety of design materials, including illustrations, logos, and other graphics using software such as Photoshop and Illustrator.
- Ensure consistency in color schemes and layouts across all graphic materials to maintain brand integrity.
- Finalize graphics and layouts, ensuring that all designs are visually appealing, on-brand, and meet quality standards.
- Take charge of special design projects, managing them from concept to completion within set timelines.
Other Responsibilities:
- Performs other work-related duties as required and assigned.
Your Skills and Expertise
To set you up for success in this role from day one, the San Antonio Zoo recommends the following skills/qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree is preferred.
- Two years of professional experience is preferred.
- Effective written and verbal communication skills preferred.
- Strong organizational skills and ability to coordinate multiple projects.
- Knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite, PowerPoint, Canva, and other design software.
- Have a sharp "designer's eye" to relay vast amounts of information in an aesthetically pleasing manner.
- Willingness to learn new skills, master new techniques, while continuing to develop current skills and abilities.
- Proven team player with strong leadership skills and a positive attitude.
- Experience in designing graphics, brochures, and design tools preferred.
- Knowledge of and ability to follow proper safety procedures, as well as the ability to work safely in various environments.
- Strong commitment to conservation.
- Successful candidates must complete a pre-employment drug screening and background check.
- Responsible for completing all online training courses by assigned deadlines.
- Must be 18 years of age or older with a clean driving record for vehicle operation.
- This position requires a valid Class 'C' Texas Driver's License or a valid driver's license from another state with the ability to obtain a Class "C" Texas Driver's License within 45 days of becoming employed.
- We enjoy year-round operation for all staff, must be available day, nights, weekends, and occasional special after-hour assignments.
