Journeyman Electrician
Position Description:
The Journeyman Electrician installs, tests, maintains, and repairs electrical components, and control systems in residential Solar Photovoltaic Systems.
Reporting Relationship:
This position reports to the Construction Manager
Essential Duties/Responsibilities:
- Install all necessary parts and equipment.
- Use the industry's best practices and complete knowledge of the NEC Codes and Standards for electrical installations.
- Ensure successful operation of the complete PV system including instructing customers on use of the system.
- Communicate and update project status to Solar Project Managers and Coordinators
- Ongoing system maintenance and troubleshooting
- Maintaining job site and vehicle cleanliness
- Adherence to OSHA and NEC standards
- Communicate any issues or concerns to manager.
- Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
- Enthusiasm for learning and adopting new technologies.
- Comfortable working on ladders and varying roof types in all weather conditions.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Disciplined team player who actively listens, learns, teaches, and communicates effectively.
- Knowledge of NEC and City building codes.
- Capable of lifting 50 lbs. occasionally.
Education/Experience Requirements
- General construction practices and common power tools.
- NABCEP certification preferred.
- OSHA 10 certified preferred.
