I.T. Associate [Full-Time]

The Impact You’ll Make in this Role
As an I.T. Associate, you will work under the guidance of the I.T. leadership team performing department duties as assigned. This includes providing technical hardware and software support for individual workstations and networked systems. You will work with end users of varying experience to support their PC, printing, and networking needs. Any experience supporting computer, networking or POS systems will be of value for this position. You'll be working closely with colleagues and encounter guests daily. Strong people skills and the ability to interact comfortably and professionally with Zoo team members and leadership of all levels is necessary in this position.

As an IT Associate, you will have the opportunity to tap into your curiosity and collaborate with some of the most innovative and diverse people in San Antonio. Here, you will make an impact by:
- Maintain and repair individual computers: administer, install, and troubleshoot workstations running Windows systems and associated peripherals: printers, scanners, digital cameras, external
drives, etc.
- Learn and assist in maintaining computer networks: help administer, install & troubleshoot dedicated computer systems to include membership, payroll, time clocks, Microsoft 365 and Trend Micro anti-virus.
- Train on and implement phone system moves, adds and changes. Install, test and repair wall jacks and cabling
- Help plan, implement, and administer user management, security, and backups.
- Assist staff in selection and installation of proprietary software packages for dedicated services.
- Assist with maintenance of archival system and library of images of Zoo photographs & slides.
- Prepare proposals for staff incorporating information collected from multiple sources.
- Establish and maintain positive, cooperative, and effective working relations with fellow employees.
- Constantly exhibit a guest service attitude, a smile, and an obvious interest in guest comfort and service.
- Communicate with the public in a courteous and tactful manner and assist guests with questions and directions to various areas of the Zoo. Address the guest - do not wait to be asked.
- Remove trash and debris from public area.
- Any and all other duties as assigned.
Your Skills and Expertise
To set you up for success in this role from day one, the San Antonio Zoo recommends the following skills/qualifications:
- Must have a strong since of self-motivation.
- Must have a strong customer service attitude.
- Must be available to work flexible shifts to meet department needs.
- Prior IT support experience preferred.
- Experience support POS Systems is preferred.
- Strong understanding of computer systems.
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Windows 10 and/or 11. (Mac OS is a plus)
- Working knowledge of Microsoft O365 suite (Outlook, Excel, Word, etc.)
- Working knowledge of general networking systems. (Fortinet knowledge is a plus)
- General knowledge of network infrastructure.
- Knowledge and/or experience with copper and fiber network cabling.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
- Ability to work both independently and as part of a team to accomplish tasks.
- Ability to work with diverse personalities and all levels of leadership.
- Experience with Ring Central is a plus.
- Must be at least 18 years of age.
- Must have a valid state issued driver’s license.
- Must have a good driving record in order to operate Zoo owned vehicles.
