You are responsible for the Zoo’s sales for group admission products and resellers in Austin, TX; generating sales for groups of 10 people or more, offer corporate discounts, team building, and sign-up ticket resellers. As an Outside Sales Representative, you will handle all facets of account management and cultivation, which includes, but is not limited to selling, invoicing clients, and collections. You work closely with clients, vendors, and various departments within the zoo to grow our group ticket and reseller business.
As the Outside Sales Representative, you will have the opportunity to tap into your curiosity and collaborate with some of the most innovative and diverse people in San Antonio. Here, you will make an impact by:
- Implement a group sales marketing strategy addressing revenue, customer cultivation, and market targets in Austin, TX and emerging markets.
- Build and grow key corporate ticket sales partners, resellers, and other consignment ticket accounts in Austin, TX.
- Be the liaison for Austin destination marketing organizations and tour companies, make sales calls, and create promotional events to bring outside event planners and members together to maximize San Antonio Zoo as a destination and to increase the dollar expenditure per visitor.
- Represent San Antonio Zoo at conventions, trade shows and other related events in and around Austin, TX to represent San Antonio Zoo as a group destination.
- Be an extension of the San Antonio Zoo brand, establishing and maintaining good working relationships with clients, participating vendors, advertising agencies and the general public.
- Establish and maintain positive, cooperative, and effective working relationships with clients, partners, and 3rd party vendors.
- Consistently exhibit an attitude of guest service inside and outside of the zoo, showing hospitality to all.
- Be fully committed to the mission of San Antonio Zoo to create awareness that inspires action to care for the wild world we steward and animals we protect.
- Performs other work-related duties as required and assigned.
Your Skills and Expertise
To set you up for success in this role from day one, the San Antonio Zoo recommends the following skills/qualifications:
- Must be able to work independently and be a motived self-starter.
- Must possess customer service and relationship building skills.
- Must possess a High School diploma or equivalent.
- Requires at least one (1) year of sales experience and prospecting strategies.
- Proficient in the Microsoft Office Suite of products (Excel, PowerPoint, Word, etc).
- Requires the ability to travel to San Antonio occasionally.
- Successful candidates must complete a pre-employment drug screening and background check.
- We enjoy year-round operation for all staff, must be available day, nights, weekends, holidays, and occasional special after-hour assignments.
