Offshore Renewable Energy Catapult is recruiting an ELECTRICAL DESIGN ENGINEER for our Blyth site to design, develop and document the electrical infrastructure of the test facilities and assets.
This role will produce electrical schematics, general arrangement drawings and specifications. It will also provide troubleshooting and commissioning support to deliver commercial testing activities and facility development works, in line with OREC expertise.
What will I do?
- Be a representative of electrical engineering activities within a project team
- Assist in delivering and developing projects, programmes, testing and test facility development
- Develop electrical designs and installations to ensure testing processes meet customer requirement and accreditation standards
- Provide electrical specification, design, installation, testing and commissioning skills to commercial operations and research activities
- Create and improve processes and systems to ensure ORE is operating in line with industry best practice
- Represent ORE at industry forums and support both internal and external stakeholders
What are we looking for?
- Degree or equivalent in relevant discipline
- Experience of LV cabling, distribution systems and associated equipment
- Experience of electrical, electro-mechanical and electronic systems
- Ability to fault find and diagnose issues on electrical and electronic systems
- Working knowledge of EPlan and Trimble software
- Good knowledge of BS7671
- Knowledge of and the application of best practice engineering design processes and tools
- Able to write detailed technical reports and communicate test results
