The purpose of this procedure is to define the authorities, responsibilities, principal duties, reporting relationships, and measures of performance for the role of Construction Project Manager.

Position Title – Construction Project Manager
Salary wage $70,000 - $125,000 commensurate on experience/abilities
Fair Labor Standards Act Status – Exempt (Salary Position)
Date of Position Opening – April 2024
Location: Hybrid Remote. Travel to jobsites throughout Illinois and Wisconsin will be required.
FUNCTIONAL ROLE & RESPONSIBILITIES
The role of the Construction Project Manager is to work in tandem with the Assistant Project Manager of Construction and other site leadership to provide consistent, high-quality, cost-effective, and timely analysis throughout the construction process. This role requires excellent attendance, a willingness to travel, the ability to work within budgets, and potentially in inclement weather. This role will work in conjunction with the Assistant Project Manager of Construction, Construction Manager, Operations Analyst, subcontractors, and the Head of Business Operations to develop accurate and efficient project management and analysis throughout the project. SPECIFIC TASKS INCLUDE:
Implement construction schedule that complies with customer requirements.
Utilize a Job Progress Tracker to track Job efficiency and deadlines to stay on schedule.
Schedule rentals and returns of equipment/machinery for sites.
Initiating Purchase Orders to vendors to keep materials on-site as needed.
Submission of Payment Applications to customers for timely payment.
Maintain subcontractor relationships throughout the construction process via weekly meetings.
Contribute to environmental stewardship and a work culture focused on health and safety.
Identify process improvement strategies to support business growth.
REQUIRED SKILLS
Strong customer service, Positive attitude, Highly motivated, Superior problem-solving skills.
Proficient in reading and interpreting design, electrical, and civil engineering drawings.
Proficient in engineering software (i.e. AUTOCAD or Bluebeam).
PREFERRED SKILLS
Experience with utility-scale solar installation from start to finish.
Proven ability to work in a team environment.
Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Proficient in Microsoft and Project Management programs.
Proficient in presenting in front of groups in a professional manner.
Ability to perform tasks with minimal amount of supervision.
Ability to perform physical tasks if/when needed.
Ability to use tact and diplomacy when dealing with co-workers, county officials, the general public, etc.
Valid Drivers’ License, with a good driving record.
Bilingual English & Spanish is a plus!
REPORTING RELATIONSHIP
The Construction Project Manager will take direction from the Head of Technical Operations.
AUTHORITY
Authority for the Construction Project Manager will be oversight for all applicable Assistant Project Managers of Construction and Construction Managers.
STANDARDS OF PERFORMANCE
The job performance of the Construction Project Manager will be determined by a company-wide peer review, administered by the Head of Business Operations.
