The Sr. Site Reliability Engineer reports to Lehi, UT office. May work from home. Salary offered: $171,600/ year.

Responsibilities:

  • Define monitoring requirements and SLA’s and help enact them with the engineering team and TPM.

  • communicate complex technical information concisely.

  • Incorporate SRE principles into applications and services, and implement system design measures to have security, performance, and resiliency.

  • Define notification strategies for production outages.

  • Use Service Level Objectives (SLOs) and Service Level Indicators (SLIs) to measure availability, latency, response time, as well as control service reliability with error budgets.

  • Run the production environment by monitoring availability and taking a holistic view of system health and monitoring application performance, capacity testing, and auto-scaling.

  • Drive support and release strategies with teams.

  • Improve reliability, quality, and time-to-market of our suite of software solutions.

  • Document every action so your findings turn into repeatable actions and then into automation.

  • Implement emergency response methods, organizing retrospectives with RCA, and managing SRE on-call workloads and reacting to symptoms according to monitoring and escalation

  • when needed.

  • Partner with development teams to improve services through rigorous testing and release procedures.

  • Identify significant projects that result in substantial improvements in reliability, cost savings and/or revenue.

  • Influences the product roadmap and works with engineering and product counterparts to influence improved resiliency and reliability of the IoT team products.

  • Proactively work on the efficiency and capacity planning to set clear requirements and reduce the system resources usage.

  • Establish the applications or services gilding principles with appropriate logging and accompanying readiness and liveness probes.

  • Grasp the big picture while paying attention to details, and consider each potential solution in the context of the wider picture to avoid introducing additional issues.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's or higher degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or Information Technology and 

  • 5 years of experience as a Software Developer and/or Programmer Analyst

  • 5 years of experience within the following skillsets:

(1)the design, setup & administration of Accela & Oracle Fusion Middleware components (Weblogic, SOA, BPM, Oracle Identity & Access Management, Http Server & LDAP Servers in on-premise and cloud environments

(2) automation of the build & deployments (DevOps) using Jenkins, GIT and Maven

(3) using Java, .Net, Python, JSP, PowerShell & shell for app debugging and system administrative and automation process

(4) using SDLC methodologies including Waterfall & Agile.
