Ipsun Solar is seeking applicants to join our team as a Roof Lead. We run installation crews of 5 people per crew. Each one has a crew lead and roof lead, and 3 additional crew members of different skill levels. Our crew leads are responsible for managing all aspects of the crew, equipment, each job site, and working with the Project Management teams back at the office.The roof leads are typically the second in command and interested in learning the electrical work to one day become a crew lead.
It is the responsibility of every Installer to ensure safe work practices for the Ipsun Solar installation team and help us get more projects completed at our high standard of quality.
Outcomes
- Maintain safe work environment for self and other crews 100% of time
- Develop the skills of more crew members still learning the trade
- Install 6kw or more per day, or approximately 1 project per day
- Provide project management team with daily updates and together troubleshoot issues found in the field
Responsibilities
- Responsible to lead your crew members and follow all safety procedures
- Train and teach your crew members about electrical and mechanical best practices
- Verify pre-assemble job components in the warehouse
- Layout and assembly of solar modules/array and mounting hardware.
- Mechanical/structural mounting of racking, modules and electrical equipment.
- Electrical wiring of solar array/system, both AC and DC (Crew lead is responsible; Roof lead as they learn)
- Document completion of completed installation.
- Clean up of the job site.
- Attend mandatory training sessions on new products, installation methodology, and safety.
- Additional duties required as needed.
Qualifications for Roof Lead
- 1 year or more of experience installing solar
- Must be able to lift 50lb
- Ability to work in extreme environments (example: hot sun, cold, crawl spaces, etc.).
- Must be willing and able to climb ladders, stairs, work on rooftops and able to work on your feet for long periods of time
- Basic computer skills including familiarity with Microsoft Office programs
All Candidates must have:
- Excellent customer service skills required
- Must have a valid state driver’s license
- Must have a clean driving record (example- no DUI in the last 5 years)
- Must be able to successfully pass a pre-employment criminal, driving and drug screen
